NEW!!!  THE NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN 2017 SUPERHEAD ADVENTURE---WRITTEN BY JOHN BELL AND JCT!!!  The following adventure was produced in July-August of 2017.  It includes a short adventure that Jay noodled out on scrap paper back in 1976, which I recently found buried in some of his papers!  This adventure was made the old-fashioned way... with sharpie, stamps, and the occasional cut-and-paste (and I mean LITERALLY... no pixels were used in the production of this adventure).  This episode is for people who REALLY knew JCT.  The uninitiated may be baffled from time to time.  I hope you enjoy it.  Send comments to jbellvoice@gmail.com OR at the JCT memorial facebook page.  WARNING:  This is 100 panels long...so don't read it until you have the time to go the distance!

The above Superhead adventure was created by Jay around 1970.  To provide a bit of background, this was when Jack Kirby had left Marvel to work for DC comics... a BIG event in our lives.  What you see below is the wrap-around cover for this set of cards (note that it is vertical instead of horizontal.  There was an illustration on the BACK of the cover as well... you'll see it at the END of this episode!

Also by JCT... somewhere in the 1970-1974 neighborhood.

The above adventure, written and illustrated by yours truly, was created in August of 1972.  The original version of this was created to explain Supes to my girlfriend--who is currently my long-suffering wife.  The original version worked out so well, I expanded it into this adventure.  By the way, my ex-girlfriend and current wife is from Texas.  You'll see why that's important when you read this episode!

Also from August of 1972.  One of mine.  This would be a good time to point out that I produced more Superhead adventures than JCT did, simply because of the difference in our styles.  Jay would pore over every word, every line, every molecule of every panel.  I've never seen him actually create a Superhead adventure, but I picture him hunched over a table with his trusty felt-tip pen in hand, his brow sweaty, and his concentration up to 110%.  I, on the other hand, would just start stamping and writing, usually with VERY little idea of where the story would end up!  I believe that this difference in our techniques made us a great team.

Yes, this is the obligatory ORIGIN episode!  This is based on a lot of stuff Jay and I discussed about how Supes came about.  Watch for explanations of "inside jokes" down here!

Before Nick Fury was the director of SHIELD, he was Sgt Fury of the Howlin' Commandos.  And before there was Slimy Olson, cub reporter, there was Sgt Slimy of the Foulin' Commandos!  Discover how Sgt Slimy pretty much single-handedly fought World War II in this 100 page epic (plus a short subject).  Not only is this filled with classic JCT hilarity, it also gives a peek at JCT's rather solid artistic abilities.  Enjoy.
